Ha estado en todas partes y lo ha hecho casi todo, siempre con una capacidad para crecer empapándose de lo que escucha, absorbiéndolo todo en una ciudad, Madrid, que suele volverle la espada a aquello que no sea una copia de una vieja fotocopia.
Uno de los baterías más exquisitos de la península, se curtió en la escena post rock e indie nacional, para después dejarse seducir por la producción y la música electrónica. Su primer vinilo, Orange (Pulpa, 2005), sigue siendo una maravillosa letanía de electrónica paisajística, con el gran Paul St. Hilaire aka Tikiman aportando declamación, y Murcof una remezcla de oro.
Y ahora, después de años colaborando con lo más florido de la escena madrileña, tras haber co-producido el nuevo trabajo, Ultraviolet Catastrophe, de Hola a Todo el Mundo; así como a algunos de los gallitos raperos (Chirie Vegas o Romo) de la capital, lustrando el camino y abriéndoles puertas (R&B, Chillwave, bass music y muchas otras) para entender el hip hop de otra manera, D.Unison está listo para grandes cosas (una de ellas es el próximo trabajo de Tremendo), como muestra en este nocturno, sensual y alucinante podcast, en el que no oculta su predilección por el sonido del sello angelino Soulection, esa mezcla de future bass, funk del mañana y uptempo soul que es contagioso a rabiar. Siempre un paso por delante, sólo le pedimos que se centre en sus propias producciones, que a buen seguro nos llegarán en el 2014 para situarse entre lo mejor del año. He has been everywhere and done everything, always being capable of growing from what he listens to, absorbing it all in one city, Madrid, who usually backlashes on that which isn’t a copy of an old photocopy.
One of the most exquisite spanish drummers, he pushed himself into the post rock and Spanish indie scene and was, later, seduced by the electronic music and its production forms. His first record, «Orange» (Pulpa, 2005), is still a wonderful litany of landscape electronic sounds, with the great Paul St. Hilaire aka Tikiman providing declamation. The Murcof remix on the album is another golden track.
Now, after years of rubbing shoulders with the upper crust of Madrid’s scene, he is co-producing new work: Ultraviolet Catastrophe by Hola a Todo el Mundo, as well as working with cocky downtown rappers like Chirie Vegas and Romo, paving a golden path to the beat of R&B, Chillwave, Bass Music, and so on. D.Unison has come up with a new understanding of hip hop. He is ready for big things, as he proves with his awesome. nocturnal and sensual podcast; coming up, new work with Tremendo. His passion for LA sounds is clear, a devotion for labels from the city of angels such as Soulection, where the mix of future bass, tomorrow´s funk and upbeat soul is contagious as hell.
